Not your computer, your email or your social media account – YOU!
We are now living in a fast-changing world and in order to survive it will require several things. First, you’re going to need to be able to adapt with a mental flexibility and a ton of emotional balance. They call this resiliency and guess what, you can’t teach it. It’s all about how fast you can “bounce back” from problems and challenges in your day-to-day life.
Second, technology and specifically digital is the fourth industrial revolution and we’re living through that major shift today. It will change what we do every day, who we are, our privacy, the time we devote to work and play even our relationships. The list is endless.
Technology is getting better every day but be warned if you’re not careful you might be serving “it” versus “it” serving you. Are you glued to your phone now? Who’s in control?
To succeed today you’ve got to know YOU. What YOU are, what YOU want. Yes, you’ve heard this a million times and it’s been said for thousands of years but guess what the answers really are in history. Today all large corporations are competing with you … to know YOU. The algorithms are watching you, tracking you, what you buy, who you meet. Your steps, heartbeat, calories, workouts … you get the picture. Companies are relying on Big Data to get to know you. And guess what happens when they get to know you? They can control and manipulate you just like The Truman Show.
Without the ability to adapt or embrace technology there will become a greater divide between those that do and those that don’t. That results in a wealth and income inequality.
Some of you may like this and welcome it but for those of you who want control over your life … get to know yourself better than “they” do and BEFORE they do.
(This is why we focus so much on personal development)
